Read complete interview in Design&Life issue 11.

I am an industrial designer who lives and works in Amsterdam with my wife, Anneko, and our two sons Cyrus and Kiyan. I was born in Iran and when I was fifteen I moved to the United States. I have studied at Syracuse University in New York and graduated in 1986. After graduating I started working for Texas Instruments and in 1990 I moved to the Netherlands to work for Philips Design. At Philips, I worked on projects ranging from medical equipment, consumer electronics and domestic appliances to strategic design. Latterly, I held the position of manager and senior designer for the Advanced Design Group.

I love to cook! I try to cook every evening for my family. It is my way to transition from my work to my private life.

Life is the embodiment for everything and design is its translator.
